The Texas Rangers play the Detroit Tigers on Thursday in Game 1 of their series.  The game starts at 1:08 p.m. ET.  Listen to the radio broadcast below.

The Cleveland Indians completed their sweep of Detroit on Wednesday, 11-10.  The Tigers kept the game competitive until the 13th inning, when Cleveland scored with bases loaded on a walk-off balk by Tigers relief pitcher Al Alburquerque.

For everybody watching, the balk was obvious.

"He just went to come set and he stopped, and it was pretty blatant," Tigers catcher Alex Avila told the Associated Press.  "There wasn't any controversy about that one."

Texas, meanwhile, is coming off Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Seattle Mariners.  Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo provided the go-ahead homer in the fifth inning.

"Two strikes, I was in a rough spot," Choo said.  "I think about more (getting) on base."

Yu Darvish (3-2, 2.32 ERA) is scheduled to start for Texas on Thursday.  He's coming off a 2-0 loss to Toronto, who scored two earned runs on him.  After the loss, Darvish didn't blame his teammates' lack of run support for the loss.

"If I could hit, or if I could hit 50 home runs, which I can't -- there's nothing to be frustrated about," said Darvish, who received 17 runs of support in his previous two starts.  "I respect all of my teammates.  I believe in them."

Tigers pitcher Robbie Ray (1-0, 0.75) will oppose Darvish.  Ray, who made his debut earlier in May in place of injured Anibal Sanchez, has only pitched two-thirds of an inning as relief over the last 10 days, according to the Associated Press.

Ray is starting on Thursday in place of Rick Porcello, who will instead start on Saturday to rest soreness in his left side.
