The United Nations is now demanding a probe from Israel as the Middle Eastern country allegedly killed unarmed Palestinians. The purported incident came to light after survivors shared details with Al Jazeera, a Qatari state-owned news television network.

Al Jazeera's reported carnage against Palestinians is quite disturbing. As of writing, the Israeli Defense Forces are still performing air strikes and other attacks in the Gaza Strip.

Israel's Alleged Unarmed Palestinian Civilian Massacre Concerns UN

According to Yahoo News' latest report, the UN Human Rights Office is demanding the Israeli government start an independent investigation immediately into the alleged violence.

Survivors claimed that Israeli soldiers raided a home in Gaza's Al Remal neighborhood on Tuesday, Dec. 19. The United Nations said that four families were sheltering in the target residence.

Based on Al Jazeera's report, which was backed by the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, the Israeli troops allegedly killed Palestinian men, after separating them from their families, in what is being called a "possible war crime".

The UN Human Rights Office stated that the Gaza Strip massacre killed at least 11 unarmed Palestinians in front of their families. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, a Swiss-based advocacy organization, claimed that 13 Anan family members, as well as their displaced in-laws, were massacred.

The advocacy group added that other family members were badly injured, putting them in critical condition. Euro-Med said that it recently received similar reports claiming that the Israel Defense Forces are committing atrocities in numerous areas of the Palestinian city.

The reports claimed that Israeli troops were killing and executing civilians for no reason at all. At the time of publication, the Israeli government and IDF have not relased a statement regarding the massacre allegations.

Palestinians evacuate the area following an Israeli airstrike on the Sousi mosque in Gaza City on October 9, 2023. Israel continued to battle Hamas fighters on October 9 and massed tens of thousands of troops and heavy armour around the Gaza Strip after vowing a massive blow over the Palestinian militants' surprise attack.

The UN Human Rights Office is urging Israeli officials to conduct an immediate and independent probe into the  massacre allegations.

If ever Israeli soldiers are found guilty of these atrocities, the United Nations said that they should be held responsible and be brought to justice.

UN officials further stated that there should be measures put in place to prevent serious human rights violations as well.

"This comes in the wake of earlier allegations concerning the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians at the hands of Israeli forces," said the UN Human Rights Office.
