John Anthony Aniston, actress Jennifer Aniston's father, died on Friday at the age of 89.
The famous Hollywood actor John Aniston, who had a ongstanding character on 'Days of Our Lives,' has passed away at 89.
John Aniston passed away peacefully on Friday, which was Veteran's Day, according to his daughter, star Jennifer Aniston, who shared the sad news on Instagram on Monday morning.
John Aniston Dies Peacefully
In the United States, John Aniston worked as an intelligence officer. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University in the mid-1950s, he served in the Navy for a number of years. In an interview with the Television Academy in 2019, he recalls acting in plays at nearby theaters while serving in Panama.
The statement from Jennifer Aniston was accompanied by several images of the two of them dating back to her early years. The Greek-born John Aniston first appeared as Victor Kiriakis on the serial opera 'Days of Our Lives' in 1985. He was born Yannis Anastassakis, according to CBS News.
John Aniston was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2017 for his work, and he went on to win the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. Jennifer Aniston made a virtual appearance at the event to accept the honor on her father's behalf and called it "really a memorable moment" for her. John Aniston is survived by his daughter, son Alex Aniston, and Alex's mother Sherry Rooney.
Jennifer Aniston previously spoke of contacting her father every day during the coronavirus outbreak. The Friends star and her father had a very tumultuous relationship but they were able to make up before his passing. The Mail on Sunday claimed in 2020 that Jennifer Aniston had made up with her father and had called him each day while the pandemic was going on.
After Jennifer Aniston talked about the hurt of her parents' divorce and subsequently forgiving both her mother and father, her father passed away. But after years of thought, she is now able to recognize some of the difficulties a member of her mother's generation faced.

Although Jennifer Aniston was very close to her father, Aniston's relationship with her mother, Nancy Dow, was far more strained and marred by betrayal, distrust, and hurt. Jennifer Aniston and Dow had a long-standing estrangement, and after her mother passed away in 2016, the 'Morning Show' star paid her mother a less glowing farewell.
Jennifer Aniston and Dow had a tumultuous relationship for years; the actress was allegedly furious when Dow decided to publish a memoir on their relationship called 'From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir.' Jennifer Aniston and her mother finally made up, but she has repeatedly discussed their tumultuous relationship and the pain she now bears as a result of their breaking out.
Dow, a model and actress who starred in 'The Beverly Hillbillies,' married John Aniston in 1965; four years later, they had Jennifer Aniston, their only child. Jennifer Aniston and her mother's connection deteriorated during her teenage years after the parents split when she was nine years old, as per NY Post.
