"Batman vs. Superman" has stirred up a lot of controversy amongst fans since the production announced actor Ben Affleck's addition to the cast.

Since Affleck's casting, people associated with the "Man of Steel 2" film and fellow actors alike have openly defended the decision to cast the actor.  However, some fans can't get over the "Argo" actor's "Daredevil" days, which is fueling the anti-Affleck debate.

Still, Snyder and the rest of the "Man of Steel" production crew has made it clear they are team Affleck.  Check out the positive things being said about the Affleck casting below.

1.  "Batman vs. Superman" Director Zack Snyder:

"Ben brings an interesting counterweight to the performance of Henry in the role of Superman...He has the experience necessary to paint the picture of an older and more advised man than Clark Kent, who bears the scars of a seasoned vigilante while retaining the charm that Bruce Wayne deploys when present in the world." 2.  "Batman vs. Superman" Producer Charles Roven:

"We wanted a guy who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work," Roven said.  "If you take a look at The Town and Argo, he plays a couple of serious guys in those movies. He's a big man. He's also a mature man. As you see him and Henry Cavill together, one definitely has much more experience just by looking at him. That's what we wanted, particularly juxtaposed against our Superman." (Source: Variety)

3.  Actor/Friend Matt Damon:

"I have seen a picture. It's excellent. And I've talked to him about the storyline, and it's great. Look, I've known him for thirty-something years.  I'd be the first guy being like, 'Buddy, what are you doing?' But I think the movie is going to be great." (Source: MTV)

4.  Actor/Former Superman Dean Cain:

"Ben Affleck is a fantastic film maker and he's a very good actor and I think people should not judge him being cast in that role before he plays it." (Source: HenryCavill.org)

5.  "Batman vs. Superman" Producer Michal Uslan:

"A number of years go by, and then all of a sudden the torches and the pitchforks go up, 'oh my god, the guy that played the gay cowboy is going to be The Joker? They're going to destroy the greatest super villain in history," Uslan told E Daily. "And then after Heath Ledger's performance, when they actually went to see it, nobody ever wanted The Joker played by another actor again. So here we are, with an academy award winning filmmaker."

"You look at his last bunch of movies, Hollywoodland he had me convinced he was George Reeves," Uslan added. "The Town, Argo, just really, really great quality of work. Again, I'll go back to what Tim said in the beginning, it's all about Bruce Wayne, and when you focus on it, Bruce Wayne, maybe in his mid-forties, what's he going to be feeling? What's he going to be thinking? What does he have on his plate to deal with? I just couldn't be more excited about it." (Source: E Daily)
