The TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour has been a hot bed of information from networks and show creators regarding some of the exciting new projects and storylines that will be coming to light in the new year. In that spirit, ABC finally opened up about its highly anticipated rumored new show in the Marvel universe by confirming that it is in fact developing an Agent Carter TV series, which would star Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, the love interest of Chris Evan's Marvel cinematic hero from "Captain America: The First Avenger."

According to IGN, ABC president Paul Lee revealed the script for Agent Carter has come in and described it as "great." He also confirmed that Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, the creators of Reaper, were involved with the pilot, which was written by "Thor: The Dark World" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Without saying he'd ordered a pilot yet, Lee did say that the Agent Carter show had a very good chance of getting picked up by ABC.

Carter had a brief back-door pilot in the form of an extra short on the Blu-ray for "Ironman 3." In the video she reprised her role from the Captain America film and revealed that she had been working for the earliest incarnation of SHIELD. Dominic Cooper and Neal McDonough both reprised their roles from "Captain America: The First Avenger" as Howard Stark and Dum Dum Dugan. Both have said they'd be up for appearing in a potential series as their respective characters were one ot be produced.

What made her character so interesting is the fact that she exists in the Marvel universe but from back in the 1950s. when asked if the period setting was important to the show, Butters said, "absolutely. It's one of the things that drew Michele and I to the project, she's such a strong, wonderful character if you've seen the one-shot and we're just very happy to be involved.
