A few days ago, NBC's Chicago Fire, aired its eight episode for season 5, which is the 100th episode for the series. It will be a few couple of days before the series returns on televisions but fans had already updated themselves for the events and scenarios expected next year.

According to a report from Spoilers Guide, the ninth episode of the series will reportedly feature Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) questioning about what he has been doing with his life. He will be having a conversation with Lieutenant Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) whom he will reportedly share his sentiments. The two will then spend some bro time together before returning into their world at the Chicago Fire Department.

During an interview with the show's executive producer, Derek Haas, TV Line reported that he has revealed those scenes with Kinney and Spencer's characters as an opener for the most-awaited crossover that's going to happen.

Speculations have already been surfacing online on the anticipated crossover of Chicago Fire and fellow NBC police procedural drama series, Chicago P.D. It has been reported that this is definitely happening next year, when the other half of Chicago Fire's season 5 starts airing.

No official news has been announced regarding on what the crossover episode will be all about but Kinney's character is reported to be the focus of this season's remaining episodes. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress America Olivo, who portrayed the character of Detective Antonio Dawson's ex-wife, Laura Dawson on Chicago P.D., is set to reprise her role on Chicago Fire. It can be recalled that the Dawsons were happily married before but got divorced at the end of season one.

As per the source, Olivo will appear on the firefighter series' twelfth episode for season 5.

Chicago Fire season 5, episode 9 entitled "Some Make It, Some Don't" is set to air on January 3, 2017 on NBC.
