CBS network has recently announced that it has renewed its police procedural crime drama television series, Criminal Minds, to the joy of the show's loyal fans and followers.

It had been previously reported that the network might cancel the series because of its low ratings these past few weeks. But this time, the rumors have been debunked as it was anounced that CBS is renewing the series for a brand new thirteenth season which is reported to be starting next year.

According to a report, it has been confirmed that the network has decided for a renewal of Criminal Minds because the actors and production team of the show has given a good performance to keep the audience engaged with every thrilling episode.

As reported by TV By The Numbers, showrunner, Jeff Davis had reportedly revealed that the series is doing well in terms viewership performance, even without former main cast, Thomas Gibson, who formerly portrayed main character, Aaron Hotchner on the show.

However, fans speculate the show has apparently suffered declining ratings since the start of the episode where Aaron Hotchner was nowhere to be seen even on a single scene from the series. It can be recalled that the actor was terminated due to an altercation that he had with one of the show's writers.

But it might excite fans more to know that it has been rumored for Gibson to come back to the series. It can be recalled that his departure was not well-received by the audience, resulting for them to create a petition for his comeback.

But this time, it has been speculated by the fans that the previous disagreement between him and the writer has already been settled. Sources are claiming that this anticipated comeback from the actor could help the series boost its declining ratings.

Meanwhile, other reports are claiming that Gibson might return earlier as expected on the remaining episodes of Criminal Minds Season 12. Although this has not yet ben confirmed by the network itself, fans and viewers are hoping this could really be the case.
