Recent reports on the Internet have surfaced that James Wan's Aquaman would not premiere on July 27, 2018, but rather on October 5, 2018. While the July date was never a sure thing, the underwater adventure will travel the same path as Wonder Woman and Godzilla 2 right before it.

Warner Bros. was forced to abandon its original release date when Paramount decided to occupy that same date with a bigger blockbuster of their own. When Paramount announced a July 27, 2018 official release date for the sixth "Mission: Impossible" movie, it was only a matter of time before the Aquaman will be moved to a different, more secure date.

More delay incoming

Since the upcoming "The Flash" movie isn't going to make it to its planned March 2018 release either. Warner Bros. inserted their Tomb Raider reboot on mid-March months ago, and they've got Ready Player One dropping two weeks later. The would-be release date for Wonder Woman and Justice League won't be seen for nearly a year after the November 17, 2017, release of the Zack Snyder movie. Despite that being the case, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Marvel went a year between "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3."

With all things said, it's safe to say that these films are going to take longer to come together compared to the MCU films. From 2013 to late 2018, we will have a total of six DC films offerings in theaters. Comparatively, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had 10 releases by the end of 2014, which included four sequels.

Marvel had six, not sequels, between 2008 and 2014, as well as four sequels between 2010 and 2014. But nonetheless, we will still be seeing a Justice League movie by 2018.
