Production for the much-awaited Avengers: Infinity War movie is gearing up to commence shortly, in which it will shoot back-to-back with the upcoming 4th Avengers movie, which is still title-less. Just recently, an interesting teaser for the film popped up on Twitter today as Marvel Co-President Louis D'Esposito revealed a photo of the cover to the Infinity Gauntlet comic series, along with a simple yet intimidating message.

Mashup of both

What makes D'Esposito's tweet interesting is that the Infinity Gauntlet series was the very first chapter in the line-wide crossover, with Infinity War being the second. With that being said, there is a huge possibility that we will be seeing some elements of both of these stories playing out in the same movie.

The Infinity Gauntlet story

The story of the Infinity Gauntlet conveys the story of Thanos assembling the said mythical glove with the Infinity Gems and managing to turn the Marvel Universe upside down, even to the point of erasing several heroes from existence. As a result of this chaos, the remaining heroes must gather together along with Adam Warlock to defeat him, but it doesn't go pretty well at first.

About Adam Warlock

The Infinity War storyline enters shortly later when Adam Warlock has removed the good and evil inside him to become a being of pure logic, though his dark side reforms as Magus to cause even more trouble. So it's safe to say that it's pretty complicated.

Marvel has been doing great

One thing to keep in mind, though, is how Marvel Studios has successfully adapted several fan-favorite storylines into films such as The Winter Soldier and Civil War, which shared a name from their comic book basis.

Avengers: Infinity War Release date

However, with production on the films beginning really soon, fans can expect more details on the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to add some more spice to their excitement. Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War is set for an official release in theaters on May 4, 2018, with its follow-up set on May 3, 2019.
