NBA superstar Stephen Curry is playing like his usual self this season. Despite playing alongside former MVP Kevin Durant, Curry still averages 26.9 points per game. His scoring average is enough for 7th in the league. In a game against the New Orleans Pelicans last Monday, Curry claimed another NBA record as he sank 13 three-point field goals which is the most in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors is also doing great as expected. After a blowout loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs on opening night, the Warriors bounce back well. They won 7 of their last 8 games, losing to Los Angeles Lakers on a night where Curry shot 0-10 from the three-point line. At 7-2 win-loss record, the Warriors are now second in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Clippers.

But according to Australia Network News, trading Stephen Curry is still a possibility this 2016-2017 season of the NBA.

Curry has been the face of the Warriors' franchise since his arrival in 2009. But with Kevin Durant now in the roster, trading Curry might be possible, although very slim. Durant and Curry blend well on the basketball floor as they average 27.6 and 26.9 respectively. But the issue is the cap space for the Warriors.

This year, Stephen Curry's salary is around $12 million. But with Curry being a free agent after this season, he will surely get a max contract and will be paid for what he deserved.

Aside from Durant and Curry, the Warriors also have to worry about key bench players Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are locked in for the 2017-2018 season.

But the way things are right now, trading the 2-time MVP is very impossible this season. What is uncertain though is Curry's destination after this 2016-2017 season.

According to ESPN, Curry said that he wants to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors. But as we learned from Kevin Durant's case, some unexpected things do happen.

Last offseason, Kevin Durant is expected to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder during free agency. But he signed with the Golden State Warriors, which perhaps is the most shocking move last offseason. Because Warriors is the one that beat the Thunder in the playoffs last season when Durant was still there.

The Warriors and the Cavaliers are bound for another NBA Finals rematch this season for three consecutive times. The Warriors are still the heavy favorite to win it all this year as they are known as the NBA superteam. But if the Cleveland Cavaliers shocked the world again and became back-to-back NBA Champions, is it possible that Curry might consider signing in Cleveland Cavaliers?

Stephen Curry and LeBron James teaming up together are like a fantasy that can only happen in video games. But in this uncertain world of NBA, anything is possible.
