At 4-6 win-loss record, the Sacramento Kings are playing decently to start the season. They are in the 10th spot in the West, which is not a bad start considering how competitive the Western Conference is. Thanks to a great start by their star player Demarcus Cousins who is averaging 20.6 points and 8.6 rebounds this season, per ESPN.

But at this pace, the Sacramento Kings is bound for another season without making the playoffs. The West as we all know is loaded with elite teams. There's the NBA superteam Golden State Warriors, the ever-dominant San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers whose depth carried them atop the West this season.

As talented as Cousins is as a player, he just doesn't have any player around him in Sacramento who would help him dominate the West. For Cousins to take it to the next level, he needs those playoff battles. He will not do that with the Kings.

Rumors suggest that Cousins needs to play alongside another superstar to create a winning team. And pairing Damian Lillard might not be a bad idea afterall. According to iTeach Post, the Portland Trailblazers might be the best team for DeMarcus Cousins.

The Blazers have a record of 5-4 record this season which is enough for 6th place in the loaded Western Conference right now. They have one of the best backcourt duos in the NBA in Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. They have a combined 51.2 points/game, which is very impressive.

But to contend for a championship, the Blazers need another superstar. C.J. McCollum is a high-caliber player. Probably an All-Star caliber player. But DeMarcus Cousins is in a whole new level. Pairing Lillard and Cousins might be a better fit.

If the Portland Trailblazers wants Cousins, they need to send C.J. McCollum and another decent player like Evan Turner or Allen Crabbe.

Currently, the West is a three-team battle between the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers. If the Blazers will acquire DeMarcus Cousins, they will also be included in those elite teams and they can also join the climb atop the West. In this way, Western Conference will be more interesting to watch with four teams fighting for the top spot.

Is the Portland Trailblazers the best team for DeMarcus Cousins. And if it is, will this trade be push through? As of now, no negotiations have been made by both teams. Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
