Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard are two distinguished players in the NBA. Both of them are part of the starting lineup of their respective team, the Golden State Warriors, and the San Antonio Spurs.

Both have impressive numbers last season. Thompson averages 22.1 points, 2.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game helping the Warriors make it to the NBA Finals but eventually relinquished the title to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On the other hand, Leonard averages 21.2 points, 2.6 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Spurs who went to the Western Conference semifinals but was booted out by the Oklahoma City Thunder. And now, rumors are spreading that both players will switch uniforms this season.

According to ChattSportsNet, speculations that Thompson and Leonard will switch places came from Jason Terry's earlier comment. Terry called both Thompson and Leonard as "B-side player" during an interview last month. Terry also said that Thompson is just a pure shooter and only a backup to Steph Curry.

The report also says that Thompson responded to Terry's comment and said that it's fine to call him "B-side player" as long as he helps the team to compete for the championship. But the report also hinted that acquiring Leonard for Thompson will help improve Warriors interior defense.

Aside from being known as offensive minded, Leonard is also a defensive specialist that could be a big boost on Warriors defensive game plan if ever the rumored trade pushes through as per stated in the report. Leonard is the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons. Defending high-caliber players such as LeBron James, Steph Curry, and others.

On the separate report by Parent Herald, with the arrival of Kevin Durant on the Warriors roster many think that Thompson's days in a Warriors' uniform will be soon over. Though Thompson is a great shooter, no doubt that Durant's ability to create his own shot and being a clutch player is already been tested.

However, the report also says that the Spurs wanted to form a "Big Three" of their own which include Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. The Spurs is keeping their eyes on Warriors Steph Curry and LA Clipper's Blake Griffin to complete the team. Both Curry and Griffin will be a free agent after this season.

Will the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs both agree to trade Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard?
