In keeping with its announcement, Google released the Android 7.1 Nougat Developer Preview for Nexus 6P, 5X, and Pixel C. The tech giant rolled out the developer preview yesterday evening and now users can download and install it to access many new interesting features.

The Android 7.1 Nougat developer preview is now available for Nexus devices and Google's new Pixel phone, reports The Verge. Users whose device is installed in the Android Beta program can install the update without any ado and get going with the interesting new features. These new features include long-press app shortcuts, Night Light, support for new circular icons, touch optimizations, and much more.

Many changes have been introduced via this much-awaited update and it is set to give a facelift to the operating system further. David Burke announced through a blog post that Google is delivering the initial Developer Preview at beta quality for the Nexus lineup of devices. He further wrote that the goal is to tease out any device-specific issues and therefore, it is a beta-quality release. The developer preview would be expanded to other devices next month. Last but not the least, the final public release of the operating system will take place in December.

Coming to features, Burke has spoken highly of the new highlights that have come along with the developer preview of the seventh version of the Android operating system, claims Android Authority. Apart from the application shortcuts, there would be image keyboard support, updated SDK and tools, samples, documentations, emulators and device system images for running apps on supported devices.

Well, the update is really going to bring a smile on the faces of smartphone users. The only downside of is that one would still have to do without some exclusive Pixel features. For ex, the new Pixel camera, Pixel Launcher and continuous 24/7 support on-device customer support would not be there but there is something else that will make one cheer up.

The pretty Google Wallpapers app is available for all Android phones and anyone with the said phone can download cool wallpapers through the app and give their phone a sexy look.
