How many times did Kevin Love involve in trade rumors? NBA Trade rumors never leave Love for the past couple of months or since the beginning of the offseason.
Earlier reports have linked Love to be traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and his former team the Minnesota Timberwolves. The latest rumor on him is the trade deal with the Miami Heat but until now it never happens. This time around, another buzz is surfacing about his imminent transfer with the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to NBA Trade Rumors, trade scenario is suggesting that the Cleveland Cavaliers will send Kevin Love to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for power forward Julius Randle, point guard Jose Calderon and shooting guard Lou Williams. The report also stated that its the package the Cavs are looking for.
Earlier reports also stated that Love's poor performance last season is the reason why the Cavs are putting him on the trading block. Reports are also saying that he didn't fit well on coach Tyronn Lue's system and his chemistry with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving is not clicking.
On the separate report by Sportsrageous, the deal looks like a reasonable one because it will give the Cavs some breathing room and depth from their bench. It was clear during their Final series against the Golden State Warrior last season that they are missing the production of their bench. The only bright spot on their bench was J.R. Smith, which until is still unsigned by the team.
The addition of the three Lakers players is a good idea at all as per stated also on the report. Calderon will be Irving backup at the point while Williams is a decent shooting guard who could bring some relief off the bench. As for Randle, he can sustain the energy of Cavs second group and learn from LeBron James as well.
As for the Lakers, they will get a veteran player in Love, who can mentor the young core of the Lakers. He also brings skills and experience that can help new Lakers head coach Luke Walton stabilize the offensive end of the team.
Nevertheless, this rumor is still speculative and there is no confirmation yet from both teams involved.
