Google is already rolling out its latest Operating System, Android 7.0 Nougat, but only in selected Nexus devices.

It should be noted that Google rolls out the standard version of Android 7.0 Nougat. Other smartphone brands including Samsung, Sony and Huawei are currently still developing their own tweaks in the latest Android OS.

Good news as Xiaomi may be ahead of schedule as compared to the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (Mi Note Pro) is already scheduled for release next month and is said to already run on Android 7.0 Nougat based on MIUI 8 OS.

Android 7.0 Nougat has some new exciting features including Multi-window, which users can use to access two apps in the same screen at once. Android's new OS also has Quick Switch, which users, using the multi-tasking button, can use to swap to the previous app.

Android 7.0 Nougat also has VR support or Daydream, which pledges more immersive VR experience.

Other notable features include additional power competence, enhanced Java 8 language support, Google Assistant, smooth updates,  new emojis, enhanced file browser, screen zoom, clear all, instant apps, push notifications, direct reply notifications and data saver.

The Android 7.0 Nougat roll-out schedule for Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3A, Xiaomi Mi 5, Redmi Pro, Mi 4s, Mi 4c, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Pad 2, and Mi 4i, is expected after Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (Mi Note Pro) release.

However, it should be noted that Xiaomi Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4 and Redmi 1S are not eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat. Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor does not complement Android 7.0 Nougat's Vulcan API.
