Apple and Google just released iOS 10 and Android 7.0 Nougat, respectively. This is major news since most of the smartphones today either run on Android or iOS. This means that this development concerns everyone.

However, each Operating System is currently experiencing downsides.

Business Insider reported that installing the recent OS from Apple seems not to be working as expected and as it did in the past. To which Apple responded quickly and the problem was soon fixed.

While the downfall of the latest Android OS is the availability. Google has not yet implemented the new OS in all of its Nexus smartphones, considering that they are the developer. Also, Sony announced that the OS will only be available to its Xperia Z and X Series by the end of the year.

For the basic comparison, Android can be varied in every smartphone, depending on the brand (Samsung, Huawei, Sony and others) while and iOS is pretty much exclusive to Apple. Google's Nexus, of course, has the basic and standard Android OS.

Some notable iOS 10 features are the accessing widgets by swiping left on lock screen and home button to unlock (previously, swipe right). There is also the SiriKit for developers where Siri can interact and access apps for you. This means you can hail Lyft or Uber and book your ride using Siri.

Something new also is the Messages with downloadable stickers and new features including sending money or ordering. Although Memories is old news for others, this is actually the first time for Apple to adapt it. Memories automatically makes short videos of your pictures taken for the day, month or even year.

While Android 7.0 Nougat's exciting new features includes Multi-window, where you can access two apps in the same screen at once. The new OS also has Quick Switch, which you can use to switch to the previous app using the multi-tasking button.

Perhaps, the greatest update is the VR support or Daydream, which promises more immersive VR experience.

In the battle of the OS, the winner will depend on your preference. Android is more customizable but Apple is more refined in terms of security and system.
