Renowned mobile device leaker Evan Blass posted on Twitter on what looks like a rendered photo of Google's upcoming Pixel phone. The handset will apparently debut on an event on Oct. 4 together with Google's other devices.

The rendered image of the front portion of Google Pixel showed a black device with a minimalistic design, lacking physical buttons. Looking closely, it seemingly has Android Nougat 7.1 onboard, which is anticipated to debut on Google Pixel devices.

In addition to the leaked image, VentureBeat's Emil Protalinski stated that Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, the larger variant, will indeed be launched on Oct. 4.

Rumors about Google launching these two new devices first began circulating a couple of months ago covertly as Sailfish and Marlin. Strong expectations surfaced that the new devices will be produced by Taiwanese company HTC while dropping the Nexus branding.

A post from Android Police depicted the differences between Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL.

The smaller variation will be featuring a 1080p resolution in a 5-inch screen, 64-bit quad-core processors running at 2.0 GHz, 32GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM, 12MP main camera, fingerprint scanner located at the back of the device, and a 2770 mAh battery. The device is estimated to be around $649.

In a similar post from Android Police, we can also see that the Google Pixel XL will have similar specs as its smaller sibling but with differences in the following: 5.5 inch QHD (quad-HD) display, 3450 mAh battery capacity, and a more powerful processor likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 821, or 823.

Both Google Pixel variants will be sporting a headphone jack located at the top of the devices. A carrier-locked version will be released by Verizon in the U.S. and users can also buy the unlocked ones directly from Google.

Whether or not these rumors are on par with the upcoming Google Pixel phones still remains to be seen at this time.
