Director Scott Derrickson promised the fans that Doctor Strange will surely meet expectations as the Marvel comic-adapted film hit theaters this November 04, 2016. On the other hand, rumors have it that the film's production has been delayed due to the main actor's unavailability to shoot the movie due to his hectic schedule.

In an interview with Los Angeles Daily News, Derrickson assured the fans that the movie's visual treat combined with its talented casting would be a total package for Doctor Strange.

"It's pretty psychedelic. If your love for the early Stan Lee-Steve Ditko comics was that visual, psychedelic ambition, I think you'll be pretty satisfied. I told them [Marvel Studios] it should take a bold left turn, like the 60's comics," Derrickson said.

Moreover, it seems that Doctor Strange will be faithful to the comics. As per the report of Cinema Blend, the film adaptation will most mostly follow the comics.

Likewise, having actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the film is essential for its blockbuster success. It can be remembered that the production date of Doctor Strange was pushed back just so Cumberbatch, on his critically-acclaimed character Sherlock Homes, can take Stephen Strange's role.

"And I think they liked how I gravitate toward real actors, talented actors who are grounded in performances that are real while dealing with the supernatural," Derrickson explained. He further said, "He [Benedict Cumberbatch] is perfect casting. Myself and Kevin Feige and the other producers involved came to a consensus very quickly that Benedict was the right guy for the role. There's just an overlap between his work and the comics that you can see and feel. You feel that he can play the intelligence, the arrogance, the unlikability, and yet intrigue of Stephen Strange and that the massive arc that the character goes through in those early comics is something that he would be able to portray."

Doctor Strange was intended to be the 14th installment of Marvel Cinematic Universe first. It will follow the adventures of Stephen Strange, the world's top neurosurgeon, whose life's purpose was deranged after he lost his hand in a car accident. He travels around to world in despair to find the cure to his irreparably damaged hand. What he found, however, is magic. With this newfound magic, Doctor Strange will battle mystical threats on Earth and in alternate dimensions alike.

Other actors who will star in Doctor Strange role include Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. Stay tuned for more updates!
