Fans are keen to compare Bea's character to Liza Keen in The Blacklist. Not to mention, the very controversial death and return of Jon Snow in The Game of Thrones.

Producers, however, previously advised fans to stop hoping for the character's return in the Foxtel program.

"It is always an incredibly difficult decision to say farewell to a much-loved and revered character like Bea Smith. Which is why this storyline has had such a huge impact on us all and we are sure fans will feel the same.executive producer Jo Porter previously announced"This decision was particularly hard as it meant also saying goodbye to Danielle Cormack."

Now that Bea's return is getting hazier, news pundits are now looking at the possibility that she will be replaced by her killer, Joan "The Freak" Ferguson. Others also consider the possibility of Kaz Proctor (Tammy MacIntosh) taking her place. Further announcements supporting such claims, however, have not yet surfaced.

Meanwhile, Smith's fans may not have time to mourn over her death or ponder much on the effectiveness of the new leader as elements of hope. Some happiness will be incorporated amidst episodes heavy with suffering, violence and danger.
