iPhone 7 is likely to release in the third week of September, serial tipster Evan Blass has claimed.

Blass has a reputed track record of leaks and his sources have provided accurate information in the past. Without attribution, Blass said in a tweet iPhone 2016 will release in the week of September 12. This seems likely given that Blass predicts a date around time iPhone 6S was released last year.

A steady stream of iPhone 7 leaks has told us fans nearly everything about the phone. This year's iPhone is expected to resemble the iPhone 6S and its predecessor iPhone 6. The noticeable differences in appearance are less conspicuous rounded antenna lines and changes to camera setup; the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is expected to feature a single-lens camera bulkier than those on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, while iPhone 7 Plus/iPhone 7 Pro is likely to feature dual camera setup.

Recent reports have suggested Apple will include a 3.5mm to Lightning convertor with the iPhone 7 to support earphones that use the jack. Apple has, in all likelihood, done away with the headphone jack and limited earphone use to Lightning port. Apprehending this may not go down well with its users, mainly those who have invested quite a bit in purchasing high-fidelity third-party earphones, the company is including a dongle.

Tech pundits believed the headphone jack's removal was aimed at making the iPhone slimmer. However, this year's device will measure just as thick as the last two iPhones, leaving one wondering why Apple removed the jack.

While minimal changes on the outside have been touted as iPhone 7's likely undoing, leaks in recent past speculating the internals have suggested the phone's hardware may prove more than a saving grace. The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 with a large camera, A10 chipset and 3 GB RAM with storage options starting at 32 GB. With these specs, analysts expect a significant number of iPhone users to upgrade.
