The WWE has gone through plenty of controversies throughout the duration of its existence as one of the biggest sports entertainment outfits in the world but nothing could prepare wrestling fans for the suspension of Roman Reigns last monght for his violation of the WWE Wellness Program and needless to say, the development has attracted a lot of attention in the wrestling press. The whole thing seemed to have been forgotten after the WWE released a statement regarding the fact that the star was being suspended for 30 days due to the violation and the wrestler owned up to his mistakes. However, the latest offering from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that a lot more went on behind the scenes regarding the whole thing.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter lifted the lid on the issue in their latest supplement and according to Dave Meltzer, the wrestler was asked to apologise to the entire roster of the WWE. A report on FORBES states, "Following his high-profile suspension from WWE for violating the company's talent wellness policy, Roman Reigns was ordered to address the entire roster and apologize for his actions before flying home. In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer states that WWE employee Mark Carrano gave Reigns the order, believed to have been a decision by Triple H, not Vince McMahon. There were mixed reactions to the situation, with some appreciating it and others feeling that it was done to humiliate Reigns."

However, that was not the end of the misery for Reigns, who then was fined a substantial amount of money by the WWE. The same report stated, "Roman Reigns is expected to lose around $100,000 as a result of missing a month's worth of live events that he was scheduled to headline. WWE superstars are paid for merchandise sold while they suspended, but Reigns would have banked 6 figures working house shows during this time away. He would have missed out on a lot more had he missed Battleground"
