Two beloved TV shows will collide when the "Gilmore Girls" revival hits Netflix. Self-proclaimed "Gilmore Girls" superfan Mae Whitman, who played Lauren Graham's daughter on "Parenthood" for six seasons, will join her TV mom's other show in a small role that will make fans of both shows happy.

It is not clear yet who Whitman will play, as most of the details of her appearance are being kept secret, but her scene will include Graham in it, which is sure to delight "Parenthood" fans.

Whitman quickly reported the news of the "Gilmore Girls" reunion on her Twitter the day the revival was officially announced. She included an "updated" cast photo with her face photoshopped into it.

"So excited 2 Finally announce RETURN of my bff @thelaurengraham 's show GIRLMORE GIRLS With this official cast pic!" the actress wrote.

The "Gilmore Girls" revival on Netflix will pick up about eight years after the seventh season aired. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino are both writing and directing all four of the new episodes, which will all be 90-minutes long. Each episode or chapter will represent one of the four seasons over the course of a year and will be titled "Winter," Spring," Summer" and "Fall."

Whitman and Graham have stayed close since they starred together on "Parenthood," which ended in 2015. The two are currently working together on a film adaptation of the novel "The Royal We," which Graham is writing.

Production on the "Gilmore Girls" revival is already underway in Los Angeles and will include most of its original cast members - including Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia - as well as "Younger" star Sutton Foster, who is playing a new character. The only major cast member who will not be returning is Melissa McCarthy.

Earlier this week, "Gilmore Girls" fans got that chance to see Padalecki and Ventimiglia on the set of the Netflix revival when they filmed a promo for the upcoming movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." In the video, the two guys picked which superhero they thought would win the fight - Ventimiglia picked Batman and Padalecki chose Superman.

No date for the new "Gilmore Girls" series has been announced yet, but it is expected to hit Netflix at some point this year or in 2017.
