A new video demonstrating an "edgy haircut" that could potentially become "the next big trend" in hairstyles is upsetting internet users. It showed a hairdresser completely butchering a woman's gorgeous long hair with a blunt cut.

Shared by BarberShapp, which is an app that allows barbers and hairstylists to connect with clients, the video was posted on Facebook and has since garnered almost 10 million views. Most of the comments slammed the haircut and the stylist. Users posted disparaging reactions about the video.

"Fancy destroying that girl's lovely hair. That's just the worst style I've ever seen, you couldn't even call it hairdressing," said Facebook user Anne White.

"Wow! I've worn some edgy cuts myself but this is ugly period and the look on her face tells me she absolutely hates it," chimed Christina Renee Flowers.

However, another user, Erin Anstey, clarified that there is another video that should've explained the cut. "The model has cancer and they take her hair through a series of strange cuts before shaving it all off before chemo has the chance to ruin her hair. I wish all the videos were posted to explain that," Anstey posted.

The video below is what Anstey was referring to, but it confirmed none of Anstey's statement about the unidentified model having cancer:

However, another Facebook user, Samantha Jo Carbaugh, echoed Anstey's comments. "What most didn't know or even bothered to look is that this woman has cancer and was getting ready to shave her head. However before she did she wanted to be silly. Everyone just wants to say how ugly this is however a person that loves the creativity of hair and not just a paycheck would see how amazing the lines are done with a pair of shears!!" Carbaugh said.
