The three arranged married couples on the hit FYI reality TV series "Married at First Sight" are nearing the end of the six-week social experiment and are preparing to make their decision on whether to stay together or get divorced. On the Tuesday night episode, two couples were able to strengthen their bond and come closer together, while another couple fought to save their marriage.

Tres Russell & Vanessa Nelson

Russell and Nelson moved into their own home together in a previous episode, but they both realized that the house isn't what they expected it to be and the location is not ideal, so they're now faced with the decision to find a new home. However, Russell didn't agree when Nelson suggested that they each break the leases on their old apartments before hunting for a new home, and Nelson took Russell's logical response as him not being committed to living together with her as a couple after the experiment is over. In an attempt to bring the romance back into the marriage and ease his wife's worries, Russell planned a surprise weekend getaway to a bed and breakfast where the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner, breakfast in bed and horseback riding. Even though their weekend was cut short after Russell had an allergic reaction during the horseback ride, Nelson said that Russell planning the mini-vacation was still a nice gesture. "That's why I feel like I'm falling for him," she told cameras.

Neil Bowlus & Samantha Role

The couple has come a long way since meeting at the altar five weeks ago, and even though Role told Bowlus that she wasn't attracted to him in a previous episode, she admitted that she now has a crush on her husband. Bowlus was away for two days to attend a wedding in Las Vegas and Role gushed about her husband during a night of bowling with her girlfriends, and she cut it short so she could rush home to video chat with her "hubs." But when Bowlus asked Role if she missed him, she asked him the same question and he hurt her feelings when he said no. Bowlus said that he didn't mean to hurt his wife with his blunt answer and redeemed himself by bringing home a bouquet of flowers and showering his wife with little gifts from Vegas, a gesture that made his wife so emotional that she cried tears of joy. She thanked him with a long embrace and a kiss on the cheek. Once they made up, the couple enjoyed a relaxing day fishing on a local pier together, which gave Role hope for their marriage. "I feel like the best thing for me to do is to continue to show him that I care about him and just show him that I'm willing to fight to stay together," she told cameras.

David Norton & Ashley Doherty

After Doherty found out that Norton had texted a female mutual friend and asked her out for drinks, she confronted her husband about his intentions. Even though he explained that he only wanted to meet the other woman in order to get advice on how to get his wife to let down her walls, Doherty was still upset and needed space, so Norton visited his family in Buffalo, N.Y. After returning, the couple talked it out in their kitchen. Doherty accepted Norton's heartfelt, sincere apology and agreed to give him a chance to earn her trust back. After a visit from show expert and sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Norton and Doherty realized that they needed to let loose and have fun in order to remind themselves of the good things they have going for them in their relationship. Norton said that he and his wife are at their best when they are being active together, so he brought her to a local aerial adventure course called Crazy Squirrel Village, where the couple climbed and ziplined through the obstacle courses. Before Norton jumped off the free fall obstacle, he asked his wife for a kiss and she gave him a small peck on the cheek- the first kiss the couple has shared since meeting five weeks ago. "Today is a fun day, and there's a lot to think about," Doherty told cameras. "It's hard to be carefree when you have a giant decision kinda weighing over you."
