On the Tuesday (Feb. 2) episode of FYI's hit reality TV series and social experiment "Married at First Sight," we see arranged newlyweds Tres Russell and Vanessa Nelson, who have enjoyed the strongest physical and emotional connection out of the three couples this season, face adversity. Nelson allows her fear of abandonment to get in the way of moving forward and trusting her husband in a new sneak peek for tonight's episode.

The clip opens with Russell explaining that he woke up one morning and Nelson was angry with him, but he didn't know why. The couple sits in their living room and Nelson attempts to address her problem.

"I really would love it if you could just get more into like a husband mentality," Nelson tells her husband.

"I need to know what you mean by husband mentality cause I feel like I've done everything that I should 100 percent do," Russell responds.

Vanessa brings up a moment during a party when one of the couple's friends tells them they look like they were in love and Russell jokingly denies it, responding with something along the lines of "that's a strong comment."

"That was lame honestly," Nelson tells Russell, then tells her husband that she's leaving.

"Vanessa is so frightened of abandonment that it controls her at times," clinical psychologist and "Married at First Sight" expert Dr. Joseph Cilona says in the clip. "Her focus is on looking for those things that she fears."

"I needed a little time to get my thoughts together and what I wanted to say to him together and I just really wanted to go home," Vanessa tells the cameras, holding her car keys and her dog.

"I honestly don't know what the state of our marriage is," Russell tells the cameras.
