Lauren Lapkus, known for playing prison guard Susan Fischer on "Orange is the New Black," took to Instagram on Valentine's Day to announce that she and her husband, Chris Alvarado, are splitting up.

"Happy Valentine's Day. Today feels like the right time to post that Chris and I have decided to part ways. This has been a tough time but we are still friends and wish the best for each other," Lapkus captioned a picture of herself and Alvarado inside a car.

The announcement comes three months before their second wedding anniversary, having married each other in May 2014, according to TMZ.

Lapkus played correctional officer Fischer on the hit Netflix show for two seasons. Her movie credits include films like "Jurassic World," "Blended" and "The To Do List," according to Daily Mail. Lapkus is also a known comedian and has featured in a number of podcasts including Scott Aukerman's "Comedy Bang! Bang!"
