Beyoncé tells it like it is! In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin opened up to the magazine about working with Beyoncé and how she once turned down a song that he had written for her.

In a preview of the magazine's cover story about Martin, the singer revealed that he once presented the "Formation" singer and her producer Stargate with a song called "Hook Up." Martin played the track in the studio for them, and she turned it down "in the sweetest possible way" and told Martin, "'I really like you - but this is awful," he said.

Luckily, Martin and Beyoncé were able to move past the incident. The two performed together along with Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and went on to collaborate on the song "Hymn for the Weekend" on the new Coldplay album "A Head Full of Dreams," according to The Guardian.

In the interview with Rolling Stone, Martin also opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow and gushed about their relationship.

"I have a very wonderful separation-divorce," Martin said. "It's a divorce - but it's a weird one."

"I don't think about that word very often," he continued. "I don't see it that way. I see it as more like you meet someone, you have some time together and things just move through."

Martin and Paltrow announced their "conscious uncoupling" in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage, according to the Daily Mail. While the former couple may not be romantically involved anymore, they still remain supportive of each other. On Super Bowl Sunday, Paltrow was seen at the big game along with her and Martin's children to support the singer.
