Before Coldplay performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night, lead singer Chris Martin sat shotgun with James Corden for "The Late Late Show's" most popular segment, Carpool Karaoke, on Tuesday night. During the drive, Martin and Corden sung bits of popular Coldplay songs, but also belted out a version of "Heroes," by the late David Bowie.

Corden was driving down the road when he picked up a hitchhiking Martin who was desperately trying to get to the Super Bowl. As soon as Martin got into the vehicle with "The Late Late Show" host, the two played Coldplay's newest song, "Adventure of a Lifetime," followed by "Yellow," "Viva La Vida" and "Paradise."

Along the way, Martin showed off some impressive impressions of two musical icons, Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger. Corden then asked the singer who he looked up to musically, Martin replied, "Bruce Springsteen, I look up to U2. Bruno Mars."

"Incredible, Bruno Mars. No one will ever come close to doing what he did at that Super Bowl halftime show. Very difficult for anyone to match that," Corden said.

"Drop me off here," Martin jokingly responded.

Martin did not just limit himself to singing his own songs during the journey to San Francisco, at one point in the rise the singer brought out a portable keyboard and started singling the late David Bowie's song "Heros."

"Thanks, Dave," Martin said after his and Corden's duet of the powerful song.
