"The Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams had some strong words for people who were upset that Beyoncé made a political statement during her performance of "Formation" at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show on Sunday. Williams, the "Senior Beyoncé Correspondent," called out former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who complained about the singers empowering performance to Fox News.

"I think it was outrageous," Giuliani said on Monday, according to the New York Daily News. "The halftime show, I thought, was ridiculous anyway. I don't know what the heck it was. A bunch of people bouncing around and all strange things. It was terrible."

During the halftime show, Beyoncé and her backup dancers dressed in costumes that represented and paid tribute to the Black Panthers and the Black Lives Matter movement. Queen Bey and her dancers even made an on-field formation in the shape of an "X" that was supposed to represent Malcom X, according to Rolling Stone.

"Are you saying you can't talk about race issues to middle America? What are they, so delicate and unaware and maybe so white that Beyoncé is too much for them? You know what's in the middle of middle America? Ferguson, Missouri," Williams said. "I am so sorry that this wasn't wholesome enough for you."

"Race was brought in because Beyoncé was brought in and, brace yourself, you might want to sit down for this, but Beyoncé is ... black," Williams said. "And as a black person, you walk around every day constantly reminded that you are black. We're more likely to get paid less, more likely to get sent to prison and more likely to win a dance competition. What? It's not all bad."
