Chris Martin is being sued by a photographer who claims that the Coldplay frontman knocked him over with his car earlier this year.

Richard Terry filed legal papers in court, accusing Martin of "intentionally" hitting him with his Jeep and steering "his vehicle hard to the right" in order to harm or cause injury to him. Terry also alleges that he sustained "serious and irreparable" injuries in the accident, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The incident took place in January as Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow and their two children were driving away in Martin's Jeep after a family dinner at the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Los Angeles, Calif. when they hit Terry, according to Gossip Cop.

However, photos of the incident emerged later indicating that the accident might have been a set-up. The pictures showed Terry running towards the car just as Martin attempted to steer right.

Other pictures taken by a photographer standing on the other side of the street showed Terry lying on the ground after being struck by Martin's vehicle, and in spite of there being many other photog's on the scene at the time, only one in particular managed to capture the incident from across the road, raising suspicion that the two photographers might be working together and targeting Martin.

Terry also alleges in the lawsuit that Martin has "a significant history of repeated and ongoing violent acts against entertainment news people," adding that musician left the scene without even checking to ensure that he was all right, TMZ reported.
