Samsung has finally announced that its next Galaxy flagship will be unveiled on Feb. 21. This latest Unpacked event will take place in Barcelona, a day before the Mobile World Congress begins.The announcement came by way of a teaser video, which showed a man wearing a Samsung Gear VR headset. It revealed the titular Galaxy S7 box ready to be unpacked. Check the video below.

The Feb. 21 unveiling confirms previous leaked information about the Galaxy S7 announcement. While some analysts speculated that the Unpacked event could take place in January, there are those who believed that Samsung will choose the MWC event as was customary in the past three years. Since this particular rumor proved true, fans are aleady anticipating that other speculations - particularly with respect to the S7 hardware - could also prove legitimate.

Some of the notable changes expected in S7 include the existence of three variants, differentiated by the the chipset and processor used, Android Central reported. A leaked image released last week also indicates that the device will sport very minor design change from the Galaxy S6 line as well as multiple build sizes. The company is also expected to bring back the expandable storage functionality and add more features such as dust/water resistance, pressure-sentive display technology and iris scan.
