The new Samsung Galaxy S7 now has an identified release date. If Evan Blass of evleaks - a known source for leaked information on smartphones and mobile devices - is to be believed, Samsung's new flagship will roll out in the U.S. on March 11.

The new information, which was posted in Blass' Twitter account, provided no other details, such as whether the Korean tech giant will hold a press announcement prior to the launch like the Samsung Unpacked events that the company held for previous Galaxy devices. If this is the case, the speculation is that it could take place during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which will begin on Feb. 22, as HNGN previously reported.

Elsewhere in the web, another leak showed photographs of the purported Galaxy S7 camera component and an actual phone prototype, possibly taken as the device is being manufactured. The images can be viewed at GSM Arena and are still unconfirmed, but they contribute to the increasing pile of information, which should indicate that the S7 device is already looming on the horizon.

Previous rumors and leaked information claimed that the Galaxy S7 will come in different variants and sport pressure sensitive display similar to Apple's 3D touch technology, BGR noted. Samsung is also reportedly bringing back expandable storage. Fans should also expect top of the line specifications for the device's processor, chipset, memory and battery life.
