Nintendo NX may be shrouded in secrecy – there is no official word yet detailing its nature as a gaming platform – recent leaks, however, paint a clearer picture.

One notable detail that has emerged involves the report, by Macquarie Capital Securities, outlining how NX works across different platforms. It was thought the device was to be a hybrid machine that combines console and mobile gaming features. But Based on the Macquarie Capital Securities report, it appears that NX will come in the form of two variants: The first is a portable device, which will be released in November; the second is a console that will be launched in 2017, Nintendo Insider reported.

Further insights were revealed in a purported survey carried out for Nintendo that seem to anticipate exclusive game franchises; networked play; gameplay that flows across NX console and NX handheld devices; a leaderboard feature; a web browsing feature;  a $200 price for the U.S. market; and 4K TV streaming at 60 FPS, Extreme Tech reported. This last feature is particularly interesting to some observers. Current Xbox and Playstation contents cannot manage 4K TV streaming effectively, providing NX with a significant competitive advantage.

Nintendo maintains a policy of not responding to rumors, Screen Rant noted. It is, therefore, unlikely that the latest leaks will get confirmed.
