January 2016 will see the release of some amazing video games across all platforms with a large percentage on the PC platform, and we'll be seeing some spin-offs, platform expansions and remasters alongside the new titles. Here's a taste of what's to come this month:

"Amplitude"

The remake of the game that put Harmonix on the music video game map, "Amplitude" has been made a reality, thanks to a successful Kickstarter compaign launched by Harmonix in May 2014.

Alongside the original version's gameplay modes (single player, remix, multiplayer and online), the remake will feature a "Team Play" mode for cooperative-competitive gameplay. Players of the original "Frequency" game will enjoy a familiar game mode included. The game will also feature the Forge game engine, which was also used in "Rock Band 4."

"Amplitude" and its 30-plus song track list hit the digital shelves on Jan. 5 for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 consoles.

"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India"

The second chapter in the "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" series, "India" hits the PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on Jan. 12.

The game is set in 1841 India. Take control of protagonist Arbaaz Mir and use his stealth skills and unique weapons and fighting style to steal back a mysterious item that was stolen from the Assassin Order.

"Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam"

The dynamic duo of monster-battling, mushroom-eating, princess-rescuing plumbers is back in their fifth game.

It will feature a combination of elements of character styles from the "Paper Mario" series. Clumsy Luigi has accidentally released the paper residents of the "Paper Mario" world, and he and Mario must team up with Paper Mario to defeat not one but two Bowsers. You'll control all three brothers at once, making for some pretty interesting gameplay.

"Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam" will hit the Nintendo 3DS on Jan. 22. It was released worldwide in December 2015, and the U.S. is last country on the list to get the game, but better late than never, right?

"Lego Marvel's Avengers"

The second game in the Lego Marvel franchise, "Lego Marvel's Avengers" may be the biggest Avengers game to ever hit gaming platforms worldwide.

With an impressive roster of more than 200 playable characters, this game is a must-play for every Marvel fan. We'll see incarnations of Marvel heroes and heroines from not just the films, but comics and cartoons as well. The plot will cover the events of six Marvel films from the "Avengers," "Captain America," "Iron Man" and "Thor" films, and with co-op moves for every two-character team, there will be an incredible number of character and action combinations to try out, so you'll never be bored! Stan Lee will even return to voice himself, which is a nice plus.

"Lego Marvel's Avengers" comes in swinging on Jan. 26 on Nintendo 3DS, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC platforms.

"Death By Game Show"

One of the most unique games scheduled for release this year, Oointah's twitch-action strategy game promises to not only entertain but also challenge your brain and test the reflexes in fun and hilarious ways.

Set in the 26th century, where humanity has become ... really, really stupid. One man, U.H. Wutt, runs afoul of the world-dominating robots by exhibiting above-average intelligence (even though it is still very low) and is sentenced to Death By Game Show. You'll need to keep your wits about you as you go through 50 challenges, fighting for survival against the robots. Use the In-Game Level Editor to make the whole experience your own.

"Death By Game Show" premieres Jan. 22 on Steam, available on PC, Mac and Linux.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. We'll also be seeing a console release of "Gone Home," a remastered release of "Resident Evil Zero" and a worldwide release of "Final Fantasy Explorers" (official website not (yet) localized). There will also be a Japanese release of "Hyrule Warriors Legends," and the worldwide release won't be very far behind!
