Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was arrested in Key West, Fla. Wednesday night following a bar brawl at a popular hotspot in the area.

Carter was handcuffed and taken into custody by police at approximately 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday for his involvement in a fight at the Hog's Breath Saloon bar and booked for misdemeanor battery by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, according to TMZ.

It's not clear what exactly went down at the bar, but Carter needs to be careful with a baby on the way. The 35-year-old announced in October that he and his wife Lauren Kitt were expecting their first child and made the announcement on the dance competition show "Dancing with the Stars," where he also revealed the baby's gender a few days later.

Carter and "DWTS" partner Sharna Burgess were the runners-up of the show, coming in behind winners Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, as HNGN previously reported.

This isn't Carter's first run-in with the law. The singer has been arrested twice before for a nightclub altercation in 2002 and a DUI in 2005, according to Gossip Cop.
