The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly interviewed Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. The 49ers are well under way in the search for the next head coach after firing Jim Tomsula, and Jackson is the clear front-runner for the job, depending on his interview on Sunday, according to 49ers reporter Tim Kawakami. The interview went very well, but Jackson is still scheduled to interview with the Cleveland Browns, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

Jackson reportedly could end up being named the 49ers head coach after the interview Sunday and is consider the leading candidate, as they love his experience as a head coach and the work he has done with quarterbacks, according to NFL Network. Jackson was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders for one season and posted an 8-8 record.

The 49ers have already interviewed former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. Jackson is considered by many one of the top candidates available to fill a head-coaching vacancy this offseason, and he is still scheduled to meet with the Browns following his interview with 49ers, according to Maiocco.

San Francisco clearly has plenty of issues to resolve this offseason, as they are not only looking for a head coach, but the future of their quarterback position is in limbo at this time as well. It will be interesting to see what happens following the interviews this weekend, and if the 49ers will put an offer on the table to lure the Bengals offensive coordinator to San Francisco.
