Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was unable to finish Saturday's win over the Houston Texans after suffering a knee injury. Maclin was scheduled for an MRI this morning, and the results showed that he did not tear his ACL, but did suffer a high ankle sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Maclin's status for this upcoming weekend's game is uncertain, and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is likely hoping his leading receiver can make it back by next Saturday against the New England Patriots. There is a chance that the Chiefs wide out could play against New England, but that will depend on how the injury heals during the week. Maclin has been a huge playmaker in his first season in Kansas City, finishing the year with 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Chiefs defense was able to hold the Texans to a shutout on Sunday, but they will face a much more difficult task against the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick's third-ranked offense, in terms of points per game, next week. Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith is having a career season in Kansas City leading them to their first playoff win in 22 years, but likely knows Maclin's presence on the field is a huge factor in the Chiefs' current success.

Kansas City currently has the longest winning streak in the NFL, but face arguably their toughest challenge of the season next Saturday against the defending Super Bowl Champions.
