It's been less than a week since the end of the NFL regular season, and a ton of front office and head-coaching moves have already happened. The Lions have hired their next general manager in New England Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn, and the move leaves head coach Jim Caldwell's job under evaluation, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Quinn reportedly has the power to hand pick the next head coach for the Lions, and some wonder if the newly acquired general manager could be interested in current Patriots coordinators, such as Josh McDaniels. The Lions clearly bounced back under Caldwell this season, as Detroit finished the year with a 6-2 record in the second half of season with wins over two division rivals in the Bears and Packers.

While the Lions are still deciding whether to keep Caldwell in Detroit, the Giants are under way in the search for their next head coach. The Giants are expected to interview former Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith for the head-coaching vacancy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith had a record of 66-46 in seven seasons with the Falcons and reached the playoffs four times. The furthest the Falcons ever reached in the playoffs under Smith was the divisional round, and his combined head-coaching playoff record stands at 1-4. The Giants interviewed assistant Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone on Saturday and have completed five interviews for the position at the is point, according to Giants reporter Michael Eisen. One of their candidates, in former Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase, has already accepted the head-coaching position with the Miami Dolphins. It will be interesting to see what happens with what many consider the most coveted opening in the NFL, as the Giants are clearly still searching for the right candidate.
