New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is one of the hottest coaching candidates across the NFL, the only major issue is that the coveted head coach is under contract through the 2017 season. Multiple teams have expressed interest in the former Super Bowl winning head coach, and the plan in New Orleans now is to have general manager Mickey Loomis reportedly try and convince him to stay, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

The Saints clearly need to make multiple moves this offseason, and if Loomis can't convince Payton to stay the plan is to let outside teams drive up the prices for their head coach.

The Indianapolis Colts reportedly had interest in Payton before signing head coach Chuck Pagano to a four-year extension. Reports of the Miami Dolphins' interest surfaced all the way back in October, and many teams would likely be interested in making a move for him. The Saints head coach is reportedly interested in the New York Giants head coaching position, but it would reportedly cost a team a second-round pick to acquire Payton, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

The Saints seem adamant about keeping Payton though, and the price could continue drive up depending on the market for the head coach. Payton has record of 87-57 since becoming the Saints head coach in 2006, and led the franchise to its first Super Bowl in 2009. It's unclear what will happen in New Orleans this offseason, and even if the organization is able to hold onto Payton expect plenty of changes to come, as a 7-9 record is clearly not what Saints fans are looking for.
