Former USC Trojans head coach Steve Sarkisian is reportedly interested in returning to the NFL as either a quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Sarkisian was fired as the head coach of the Trojans after reports continued to surface in regards to him appearing intoxicated at the university's facility. Sarkisian has since filed a $30 million wrongful-termination lawsuit claiming the school "kicked him to the curb," according to ESPN.

Sarkisian is reportedly now sober and ready to return to coaching. The former Trojans coach has worked as a quarterbacks coach with the Oakland Raiders, working with quarterback Rich Gannon in 2004. Sarkisian also has ties with Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, as he coached under him when he was the head coach of the Trojans.

It's unclear if any NFL team will take a chance on Sarkisian this offseason, but it wouldn't be surprising if he found a job with a strong organization in need of a quarterbacks coach. He will likely have to join a program with a strong foundation in place, and a head coach that has a connection with the former Trojans head coach.

Sarkisian has proven that he can produce a winning teams during his time in Southern California and Washington, but expect any team interested in him to do a thorough background check, as many likely view him as a liability around their teams.
