Ole Miss junior wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has elected to forgo his senior year and apply for early entry in the 2016 NFL Draft. Treadwell is considered by many one of the top wide receivers in the upcoming draft, and is expected to go in the first round, according to Pro Football Talk.

"After sitting down with my family, we have decided it is time for me to take the next step in my career and enter the 2016 NFL Draft," announced Treadwell in a statement, via Ole Miss' team website. "It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I can't thank my teammates, coaches and our great fans enough for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus. No matter how far life may take us, I will always be an Ole Miss Rebel. God bless."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound star wide receiver had a huge season for the Rebels this year and was quarterback Chad Kelly's favorite target. Treadwell led the team with 82 receptions for 1,153 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. ESPN's Todd McShay's mock draft placed Treadwell as the 10th pick by the St. Louis Rams, and many expect the talented wide out to land in the first 15 picks.

Treadwell came back strong this season after suffering a season-ending leg injury last year, and is great at catching contested passes. Teams in need of a strong talented wide receiver will look to target Treadwell, but he could be taken off the board quickly come April.
