San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy will retain his position for the 2016 season, but changes to the coaching staff are reportedly expected to come soon, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Tribune.

Defensive coordinator John Pagano is reportedly at risk, as the Chargers finished with the 20th ranked defense in the league, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport. The San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams have all applied for relocation, and none are expected to make a coaching change prior to the move, according to Rapoport.

President of Chargers football operations John Spanos wrote a letter on the state of the team moving forward. "I have the utmost confidence in our leadership. Tom Telesco, Mike McCoy, and I have already begun evaluating every aspect of the team to take the essential steps to put a winning product back on the field. We will waste not time make the necessary changes," via the Chargers' team website.

McCoy posted his first losing season in his third year with the franchise, but there are no indications this team is heading in the right direction. There top defensive player Eric Weddle is likely on his way out the door, and their franchise quarterback Philip Rivers just turned 34-years-old this December.

San Diego is likely going to make some changes to McCoy's coaching staff, and it looks like the Chargers will look to rebuild their franchise in a Los Angeles if the team gets the required amount of votes for relocation.
