Love it or hate it, you have to respect "The Big Bang Theory's" staying power on CBS. Rarely does a sitcom receive nine whole seasons to mess around with, but "The Big Bang Theory" has earned its longevity with some recent OMG moments that proved highly entertaining. But how much longer will the popular series stick around? Showrunner Steve Molaro addressed this with The Hollywood Reporter recently.

"The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point," Molaro said. "The real answer is I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There's still so many episodes to go. Even if hypothetically season 10 was the end, I wouldn't be focusing on that yet. That seems like something that would be dealt with way down the line."

OK, so that isn't much in the way of a definitive answer, but it certainly points to "The Big Bang Theory" ending sooner rather than later.

Long the No. 1 comedy in the highly coveted 18-49 demo, "The Big Bang Theory" is about to match "Friends" with double-digit seasons. Co-creator Chuck Lorre mentioned in the same article that the decision to continue beyond that point would be left to Molaro and the cast and crew. If ratings are to be believed, there's still quite the demand for it, but it's unknown how all those involved in actually bringing the show to life feel about it.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Molaro isn't even completely finished with the current season, so it's hard to project the future of the series when the driving force behind it has had barely any time to start mapping out story. CBS can afford to take its time with this one.

While the network does that, "The Big Bang Theory" will air its 200th (!) episode this season, another milestone in an ever-growing list of them. You can catch the series Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
