After a little newborn baby goat broke his leg in two places, the farmer deemed the little guy "no longer useful" and was going to have him euthanized, according to 3 Million Dogs. Lucky for that sweet little newborn, the wonderful folks at Leon Vegano Animal Sanctuary and Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary in Spain combined efforts and stepped up to take in the sick little goat they named Iker.

Once Iker arrived at the rescue, he was in dangerous health with a fever and dehydration, deadly for a one-week-old goat, but along came a loving cat named Cody, a previously feral rescue who is a survivor himself, said One Green Planet. Cody stepped up as a surrogate parent, lovingly caring for his charge. Kisses, T.L.C., cuddles and love were prescribed by Cody, and the rescuers provided the rest.

While not out of the woods yet, you can see the Iker has thrived beautifully so far under the watchful eye and care by his faux nurse, Cody.

"He's a real sweetheart." Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary said, according to the Dodo. "Although he may never walk normally, he is expected to make a full recovery."
