Kate Upton is a blonde bombshell but does she have the goods to act alongside Daniel Craig as his Bond Girl in the untitled "James Bond 24" film?

Upton is the latest beauty to be linked to the upcoming Bond film.  According to IGN, the supermodel is up for the role of the next Bond Girl, along with U.K. actress Helen Flanagan.

"Flanagan has reportedly met with casting directors in Los Angeles to talk about the project, and according to the paper's unidentified source 'they felt she had a unique look, great figure and natural charm on screen,'" according to IGN, citing the U.K.'s The Sun as the original source of the casting rumor.

"But Flanagan may have competition from Upton, inching her way into the acting gig with small roles in The Farrelly's 'The Three Stooges 'and next year's Cameron Diaz-starring comedy 'The Other Woman,'" IGN added.

However, there were also rumors back in June that the beautiful, talented Penelope Cruz was being considered for the Bond Girl role.  If Cruz were cast as Bond's love interest, she would be the oldest Bond Girl in the history of the series.  Cruz was pregnant at the time of the rumor.

"The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments," a source told Yahoo UK. "The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now."

"She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her figure quickly this time. She'll be a great Bond girl," the source added. "Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that's totally Penelope."

To fans' disappointment the rumor was later denied, according to IGN.  The untitled "James Bond 24" flick is reportedly set to being filming April 2014.  The film is due for release on Nov. 6, 2015.
