Warning: The following contains spoilers for AMC's "The Walking Dead" and its graphic novel counterpart.

Despite what you may think of the relative safety of "The Walking Dead's" main characters following the lazy fake-out death of Glenn Rhee this season, everyone is still potentially on the chopping block. That includes Lauren Cohan's Maggie.

To be fair, the following is likely a huge overreaction by fans. But it's still worth noting.

Cohan recently attended a special event with an all new short hair cut, as reported by Vanity Fair. Normally, actors in popular shows have to maintain a consistent physical appearance, especially when it comes to their hair (Kit Harington's contract with HBO includes hair cut clauses, seriously). Is it at all possible that Cohan's new look is an indication of her character's impending doom on TV? Say it ain't so.

Again, we're likely reading way too much into this, but we have our reasons. The second half of season six will be buying its time before Jeffrey Dean Morgan shows up as iconic comic book villain Negan. As fans of the source material know all too well, Negan means bad news for the Rhee family. (SPOILER ALERT #2).

In the comics, Negan viciously kills Glenn in one of the most violent and disturbing scenes in the whole series. Could showrunner Scott M. Gimple have changed things around so that Maggie is now the one to get it? It seems odd that "The Walking Dead" would give viewers another fake Glenn death this season only to kill him shortly after for real. As brutal as it sounds, killing the pregnant Maggie would help the show regain some of the tension it lost this past season.

Again, this is pure speculation. We have no idea what is coming on the hit AMC show and we hope we are completely off the mark with this theory. But both actors along with Gimple have said the second half of season six will be extremely dark. What could be darker than this?

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Feb. 14.
