Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon spends most of his time trying to avoid getting bit by walkers on AMC's "The Walking Dead." As it turns out, steering clear of a pair of chompers may be more difficult in real life.

According to Undead Walking, a female fan bit Reedus at the Walker Stalker Convention in New Jersey. Yes, you read that correctly; she bit him. The outlet reports, "A female fan was standing [in] line for photo opportunities with Reedus and Michael Rooker at Walker Stalker Con NY/NJ around 2:50 p.m. when it was her turn to get a picture taken." The woman then told Reedus that she pretends that the two are married before the incident in question occurred. "After a moment, security ran in and restrained the woman, explaining that she was to be removed for biting the The Walking Dead star."

Michael Rooker, perhaps channeling his inner Merle Dixon, screamed, "What the f--- was that?"

The woman than took to Instagram to explain what happened.

"Finally met the love of my life, and get banned from the rest of CON and lose two more $100 photo ops with him because I lost my mind...got so excited standing beside him...and just turned my head and bit him! I don't know what came over me. It wasn't my intention to hurt him. I'm sorry, Norman!"

Fortunately, Reedus won't be turning into a flesh eating zombie because of the bite. He will, however, likely be more wary of overly enthusiastic fans from now on.

"The Walking Dead" will return for the second half of season six on Feb. 14, 2016.
