Pamela Anderson has been gracing the pages of Playboy since her Baywatch days so when the iconic magazine announced earlier this year that they would no longer be publishing nude photos of women as of March 2016, they knew they had to have the 13-time cover star to pose nude for the final shot. What better way to go out with a bang?

The January/February cover was released on Thursday Dec. 3, a little over a week before it hit newsstands, along with Anderson's sexy nude photoshoot in the inside, according to Us Weekly. The photos were shot by Ellen von Unwerth, and the cover photo shows Anderson topless and smiling with her signature smoky eye and a gold choker that reads "SEX" around her neck. The headline reads: "Pamela: A Revealing Return to the Mansion," This marks her 14th Playboy cover, which is a record for the magazine.

"I got a call from [High Hefner's] attorney who said, 'We don't want anybody else. There's nobody else. Could you do the last cover of Playboy?'" the 48year-old model told Entertainment Tonight. "I was like, 'What? Are you serious?'"

When she first got the call she was a little worried about what her two sons, Brandon, 19, and Dylan, 17, might think of their mom doing another naked cover, especially since they were teased about it when they were growing up. But it turns out they were the ones who encouraged her to accept.

"I said, 'Hef just called. He wants me to do the last cover of Playboy,' and [Brandon] goes, 'Mom, you've got to do it,' " Anderson explained. "[Brandon said] 'We're older, we're not embarrassed anymore of you. You know, we think you're great.' He was so excited. He may have high-fived me! And then I asked Dylan, too, and Dylan's like, 'Mom, you know you've done it all.' I don't know what to say, but they were really excited for me and I was excited too."

Anderson then went on to explain her love for Hefner and how he's "been such a big part." She says she mever thought they would ask her to pose for the magazine again. "I had a rough few years where I was feeling a little insecure, 'cause you know everyone's getting older," she continued to say. "I thought, 'My gosh, I miss the Playboy days.' It was so glamorous, it was so chivalrous. There's so many people there that are so smart...You know, I just kind of miss that whole crowd and us being these little giggling girls kind of running around the mansion half naked and trying to get everybody's attention."

Since this would be her last time posing nude for the magazine, she figured she'd relive those days a little bit. "I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can," she said of the photoshoot. "I was just screaming, and hair and boobs were flying, and shoes were going everywhere."

Playboy made the decision to cut its signature nudes in the magazine as a part of a radical redesign, as HNGN previously reported. With so much content being available online, the editors understand that they have been overtaken by the very trends they started. "The battle had been fought and won," the company's chief executive Scott Flanders said at the time. "You're now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it's just passé at this juncture."

See the full shoot when the final nude issue of Playboy hits stands Friday December 11. Anderson, however, admits she won't be looking at the issue because she "never looks at [her] pictures."
