Last week Infinaty Ward, the developer company behind part of the "Call of Duty" game franchise fired shots at Rockstar Game's newest record breaking hit "Grand Theft Auto V" by telling them not to get too comfortable with their record breaking sales, many of which dethroned "Call of Duty." Now the developer has a bit to say about the people who play the game.

According to executive producer Mark Rubin, in an interview with OXM, he doesn't expect the arrival of next-generation console sot have much of an impact on how much people play "Call of Duty" particularly in online multiplayer.

"Regardless of platform - people's gaming habits aren't going to change just because there's a new platform," he said. "We have an enormous amount of players who are more in the casual game space, but they play a lot."

Rubin went on to discuss the fact that "Call of Duty's" audience, although not necessarily hardcore gamers are still hardcore "Call of Duty" fans.

"It's kind of a weird, ironic thing to say; They aren't hardcore gamers, or even gamers, but they play Call of Duty every night. And those guys are going to continue to play regardless of platform. So I think not only will we continue to engage with that existing player base, but we'll take next gen and see how far we can go with it."

Infinity Ward's latest installment in the series "Call of Duty: Ghosts" is set to release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on Nov. 5. Following that release the game will become available on next-generation consoles the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One once they each launch later in the month.
