Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are one of the most talked about young couples in Hollywood and ever since they ended their on-again, off-again relationship last October, fans have been wishing and hoping they would get back together. After Bieber was seen at a hotel on Friday night serenading Gomez with his new song "Sorry," which is one of the songs from his album that is rumored to be about her, people have been wondering if the two might possibly be on again and it seemed like the American Music Awards would be the perfect time to tell.

Prior to tonight's show, seating charts revealed that Bieber, 21, and Gomez, 23, were both sitting front row, but nowhere near each other, and after their romance-filled night on Friday, they really wanted that to change, according to TMZ. Just several hours before the show, the former lovers requested to the ABC producers that they be seated next to each other, but as far as those watching at home could see, it doesn't seem like they got their wish.

During host Jennifer Lopez's opening performance, the cameras cut to Bieber dancing to his own song "Where Are U Now," but Gomez was nowhere in sight, and then later during Ariana Grande's performance of her new song "Focus," the cameras cut to Gomez dancing with an empty seat next to her, but it doesn't seem as though that was the Biebs seat.

"[Selena and Justin] are both super excited to hang out together at the American Music Awards," a source told Hollywood Life before the show. "The show brings back happy memories for them. They walked the red carpet together in 2011 when they were crazy in love. Now they are more mature and still in each other's lives after all the ups and downs. They won't walk this year's red carpet together, but will spend time back stage."

The two were not seen together at all on the red carpet or during the show and have not yet commented on Friday night's PDA filled events.
